Winners of MTV's "Top Pop Group" and Boyz II Men's "Next Great A Cappella Group", America's Got Talent finalists, and international recording artists come together in this evolution of vocal music.
The innovative vocal collaboration, The Edge Effect, is taking music to a whole new level - and in ways you might not expect. A six-man vocal band, The Edge Effect combines pop, R & B, jazz, rock, and funk in a show unlike any other.
The Edge Effect's signature sound blurs the genre line and weaves a colorful tapestry of infectious beats, intricate harmonies, and spectacular vocal acrobatics. Their vast repertoire knows no boundaries to style or genre, and the band's stunning reinterpretations of musical favorites, as well as inventive, contemporary original songs make for an unparalleled entertainment experience.
Having shared the stage with such superstars as Prince, Tony Bennett, the Pussycat Dolls, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and Jay Leno to name a few, the members of The Edge Effect have mesmerized audiences throughout the United States and around the globe. The band's members have earned recognition throughout the industry, with performances at both The Academy Awards and The Grammy Awards, as well as being crowned winners of MTV's "Top Pop Group" and CBS' "Next Great A Cappella Group" by Boyz II Men.
Follow them from the very beginning!
As far back as I can remember, music has always had a place in my life. Growing up, my grandfather was constantly playing music on his beloved record player, and I was exposed to a myriad of styles and musical greats from a young age. Being a child of early Mtv, I would emulate Michael Jackson, Daryl Hall, Simon Lebon and more in my bedroom, while emulating Don Mattingly on the neighborhood playground. It wasn't until I was 17 and in high school that I got up the courage to sing for an audience and needless to say I was hooked.
Since then, I've been chasing the dream of creating art and making music. My journey has taken me to Nashville where I graduated from the well respected Belmont University School of Music Business and learned the art of songwriting with some of the towns young writers at EMI music publishing; New York city where I was chosen to attend and perform for the BMI Commercial Songwriters Showcase, asked to join and perform for the NewYork Songwriters Circle, and play such music hubs as the Rockwood Music Hall, the Living Room and more; and Orlando, where I really cut my teeth as a studio singer, background vocal arranger, frontman and soloist. I've had the pleasure of performing with great vocal groups such as 42Five and Toxic Audio, as well as record for Narada artist Eric Darius and producer Michael Crain who has worked with a number of artists including the Yellowjackets, the Backstreet Boys, David Foster and more.
I look forward to the next step in my journey, which includes identical twin boys with my beautiful wife Christye!
For 20 years, I've been performing professionally in the entertainment industry as a singer, beatboxer, arranger, composer, instructor, producer, and voiceover artist.
My musical roots run deep. Born into a musical family in sunny Southern California, my musical journey began at a very young age, and over the years I developed an affinity for theater, singing, playing piano, and DJing.
At the University of Washington as a Physics major (yes, physics) I fine-tuned my skills in arranging and vocal performance under the tutelage of Grammy Award-winning orchestrator Roger Treece. While living in Seattle, I was scooped up by The Walt Disney Company and I was recruited as a singer, actor, and voiceover artist, as well as a member of two world-renowned, preeminent vocal groups, The Voices of Liberty and Disneys AmericanVybe, under the musical direction of the illustrious Deke Sharon. During this time, I served as a musical director, arranger, and assistant casting director for Universal Studios Japan.
Over the years as a professional musician, I've been blessed to performed all over the world, been featured on MTVs Top Pop Group and Americas Got Talent, and has shared the stage with such artists as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, and Macio Parker just to name a few. I'm probably best known as an original member of the award-winning pop/R&B vocal group Mosaic, where I've served as arranger, vocal percussionist, and baritone vocalist for 7 years.
Currently, I am a founding member of the vocal band The Edge Effect, and in my free time (whenever that is!), I teach arranging, beatboxing, vocal performance and staging, and also arrange and produce for a variety of talented musicians and singers.
I have always known I would have a career in the field of music, I just didn't realize it would be as a singer. My first passion was jazz saxophone, initially learning the instrument at 8 years old to impress my grandfather who was my first "professor" of music. In high school, I put down his sax and picked up the sticks. Drums became my new focus and there was no turning back. Convinced that Id be the next Dave Weckl, I continued my percussion studies into college. The college show choir director overheard me and my best friend singing a Boyz II Men song while loading equipment into a trailer for a jazz ensemble concert and he offered an audition for the two of us to join the show choir. Yes, I said show choir. The audition was successful so I put down his sticks as quickly as I picked them up. Choir led to singing at Walt Disney World Orlando for 7 years and to meeting many of the members of the group that would become the vocal group Mosaic. Mosaic took me to Las Vegas and through that group I was blessed to perform onstage with Jay Leno, George Wallace, Tony Bennet, Marc Broussard, Stevie Wonder and countless others. From MTV and the Grammys to The Academy Awards and America's Got Talent, I have been able to do things I had only dreamed of. After 10 long years in Mosaic, I am proud to rejoin forces with some amazing singers from my past, along with some freakishly talented new ones to form The Edge Effect!
In addition to music, I am married to the love of my life, Christina. Together we have the gift of raising our year and a half old-insane-little maniac of a son Liam. He's the joy of their lives!
I was born in a small town in Louisiana, outside of Lafayette. At the age of 4 my family moved to Orlando, Florida where I had the privilege of attending the prestigious Jones High School where I was a member of the world renowned concert choir. Ive been singing as a professional musician, vocal arranger and vibe catalyst since the age of 17 and spent 8 years as a member of the Orlando based Universal Records recording R&B group Jaze. I've honed my performance skills as a front man and background singer with a number of bands ranging from hip-hop to funk cover bands.
Most recently I worked as an owning partner and performing member of the successful vocal band Mosaic who was named MTVs Top Pop Group, voted the Best New Acappella group in America by Boyz II Men and the CBS early show as well as Quarter finalists on the hit show Americas Got Talent. So far, I've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such amazing artists as Bobby Caldwell, The Time, Donny Osmond, Marc Broussard, India Arie, John Legend, Prince, George Wallace, Jay Leno, Chris Tucker to name a few. The future looks bright with God on our side.
As a performer and professional vocalist, I look at music and performance as not only entertainment but as a way to connect with and uplift others. Over the years, I have been blessed to have appeared in numerous productions including Monsor in the world premier of One Mans War, Coalhouse in Ragtime and Jack Wright in Love Blues. I've had the privilege of learning and working alongside some of the industries most revered individuals such as 14 time Grammy Award winner David Foster, Angela Bassett, Karen Ziemba, Brian Stokes Mitchell & director Mark Lamos.
In addition to the stage, I've enjoyed an incredible career in a cappella. As a true bass, I've been featured in Disneys premier a cappella group Voices of Liberty and Men In Black, an award-winning quartet with roots in musical theatre, jazz, opera & barbershop harmony. These pursuits have also led me to work in the voice over industry since 1999 when I recorded my first book on CD. I continually search for growth and am always grateful for the next opportunity to share it, and am excited for the new opportunities on the horizon with The Edge Effect.
Born in Tampa, Florida, I moved to Houston, Texas with my family at age 12 where I attended school in the Spring Independent School District. A late bloomer, I never sang as a child and only joined the Westfield High choir for the fine arts requirement. Match made in heaven. I went on to Morehouse College in Atlanta, where I became a member of the world renowned Morehouse Glee Club. There, I tapped into the true potential of my voice. I transferred to Oklahoma City University to further evolve as an Artist before the dream swept me away.
As an Alternative / Soul Singer, my ability to rock a crowd evolved from playing those dull nights with one person in the audience. The nights where you're determined to entertain at least the waitresses and bartenders. It taught me that what's most important is to have fun on stage, and that's what I do. It's a party and everyone's invited. I studied Voice as a Music Major, and picked up the guitar along the way. Now in my 20's I've toured with Musicals, Jazz, Funk, Soul and Alternative bands and now perform both as a Solo Artist and with the vocal group 'The Edge Effect'.
